Ringmaster- SLOW burn

BLURB

Cale has the circus in his blood. As ringmaster and owner of Meriful’s Traveling Circus, his world is the arena, the spectacle and the heat of the spotlight. He looks out for his ragtag troupe of performers as if they’re his family, because after tragedy struck, they are.

Ryah’s been battered and bruised by life and is ready to give up. Then Cale finds her, and she runs away to join Meriful’s Traveling Circus and becomes the horseback acrobatics star she’s always dreamed of being.

What ultimately calls to her is Cale’s dangerous knife-throwing act, and the thrill of putting her life in his hands. Soon, she doesn’t want to be just part of his act. Cale’s doing his best to resist the fragile eighteen-year-old. He’s the ringmaster, but lately he’s been wondering…

Who’s running rings around who?

REVIEW

This book takes ‘slow burn’ to a whole other level. At a point I was wondering if the main characters would ever get together because I mean come on!

Ringmaster is an age-gap romance and is the story of Ryah and Cale who run away together and join the circus -well, Ryah runs away with Cale. Cale is already part of the circus. But, potato, po-tah-to.

Anyway, they‘re both in the circus and strike up a sort of friendship. And for Cale, friends is all they can be because when they meet, Ryah is only seventeen and he’s thirty-one.

At first, being friends is pretty easy, but once they decide to perform together it becomes harder and harder to deny their connection.

Ryah and Cale’s relationship was very sweet and tender. Considering Ryah is escaping an abusive household, Cale made sure she felt at home within the circus. He was also respectful of their age-gap and always took a step back before he did something illegal. As the leader of the circus, he was also very responsible and made sure everyone was looked after. But, it was how caring he was to Ryah that really made me like him.

Ryah, while young, was incredibly mature. Even though she’d been through a very traumatic ordeal, she never stopped smiling or being positive. She was also there for Cale when he was having tough times. It was very easy to understand why Cale was attracted to her.

The entire story was really nice. The drama was good and the slow burn was insane- but in a good way. If you enjoy age-gap romances, you’ll enjoy this one.

one last teaser to entice you *wink*
