If there is another that knows how to write a dark romance it is Lily White and this book was nothing short of a Dark Romance masterpiece.
The Danger You Know is the story of Adeline and Ari.
After seeing Adeline during one of his 'jobs', Ari becomes completely obsessed with her. He stalks her for years and his obsession knows no bounds. He would do anything (I mean ANYTHING) to make sure a hair on her head is not harmed (I'm really not exaggerating). But, he always keeps his distance despite the crazy attraction he feels towards her. That is until Adeline begins to 'lose herself' and Ari decides he is just what she needs to find herself again.
I absolutely loved Ari. He knew he was the villain in the story and embraced it. His obsession with Adeline was definitely disturbing but he didn't care, literally telling the readers fuck you whenever he thought we were judging. He was confident and crass and sexy! I think I’ve found a new book boyfriend.
Adeline was such a powerful heroine, able to match Ari toe to toe in all his crazy. She was just as dark as he was and Ari was exactly what she needed to embrace who she is. They were definitely made for each other. I always love when the hero and heroine are equals so this definitely made me enjoy the book even more.
Plus, the chemistry between them was electric. I could literally feel it as I kept reading. Every interaction between them was so intense, I had to take a break.
Their story is not your typical love story. Everything that happened between them was dark and twisted and so full of angst, but written in the most beautiful way possible. Stories like these are why I fell in love with Dark Romance.
sometimes even the ugliest stories can be beautiful, and ours was fucked up from the beginning

EXCERPT
Clearing my throat, I whisper, “I’m a married woman.”
“You keep saying that, but I’m not sure I care.” A pause. “I’m not sure you care either.”
He runs a fingertip along the curve of my hip, and I jump, my throat slamming closed as I attempt to hide the reaction.
“Are you planning on having any fun tonight, Adeline? Or has your life become so boring, you’ve forgotten what it is?”
I don’t answer him, but it doesn’t stop Ari from having his fun.
Another soft slide of a fingertip, this time down the center of my nape, the secret touch hidden by the fall of my hair.
“I hope you know I plan to wrap my fist in this hair the first time I sink inside you.”
My entire body shivers, my lungs struggling to breathe as he pulls his hand away.
Voice a low croon, he asks, “Will you dance with me?”
Swallowing several times before I can answer, I lie to him. “I don’t dance.”
But it makes me remember when I used to lose myself to the beat of music, the hours I would spend happily working myself into a full body sweat, my hair wild, my heart pounding. I’d felt so free then. So unencumbered by the weight of responsibility that came with being the wife of Grant Cabot.
“I think you do,” he whispers.
“My husband doesn’t dance,” I say, my voice firmer because it makes me angry to admit it.
A soft chuckle. “Then it’s a good thing I’m not your husband.”
